The Audio Cynic is written from two ends of the same industry: Tj on the bench, Bill in the room where the decisions get made. The publication exists so you get both sides, with the uncertainty left in.

Tj

Tj has spent years on audio support desks and repair benches, including at PS Audio, and works across component-level repair, vintage gear, right-to-repair, and honest fix-or-replace decisions. He writes about what actually fails, what it takes to fix, what it costs, and whether it is worth fixing.

Bill

Bill Leebens has spent decades in high-end audio: Director of Marketing & Communications at PS Audio, founding editor of Copper magazine (97 issues), and editorial work across the industry. He writes about the market, the heritage, and the room where the decisions get made.

Both of us have worked for the same employer and come out on the same side: repair is a design choice, and scarcity is easier than service. This magazine prints the honest version of both arguments.
